fairytale

Once upon a time there was a girl who lived in a horrible kingdom. She had no friends and was very lonely in the kingdom, but she had a boy. The boy breathed life into her and filled her heart. When she was with him, she was happy and wasn't lonely anymore. Then one day, the boy told her he was moving and was leaving her because he wasn't good enough for her and that her life would be better without him. The girl's heart broke. She cried for months and screamed for him while she dreamed and her heart continued to break into many pieces.

Then one day, her heart was so shattered that her body began to shake. Her parents took her to a doctor who gave her a potion that would stop her shaking, but told her only she could mend her heart. The price for the potion was the young girl's womb.

The girl still had no friends her own age, but her friends were her teachers and leaders. She learned to dance and paint and create beautiful things and help those in need. When she did those things she was happy.

One day, she spoke to her wise uncle who was confined to a wheelchair because an evil spell was put upon him because of his greatness. He was the smartest, strongest, bravest and funniest person she knew and they had a very special friendship. She asked her uncle what she should do to carry on. Her wise uncle told her to have courage and told her something a very wise man said, "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are," and in her heart she knew that she had courage to do so. She could feel herself growing into someone great, when she laughed and when she painted and danced and talked with her grown up friends and when she helped others. She knew that one day she would escape the kingdom and everything would change.

One magical summer night she escaped the kingdom to be schooled in many things and went to a beautiful, magical northern land, where in the winter, the frosted trees sparkled like diamonds. She felt herself changing, becoming who she really was. She learned as much as she could and she made many friends. She discovered that she was not just smart but that she was fun and spunky and funny and beautiful and that many people loved her. She loved her life and many people mended her broken heart. She had finally become the woman she was meant to be. When she graduated from her schooling her wise Uncle gave her a plaque that said, "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. -Emmerson"

One magical wintery day the girl and a young man that she had known for many years stood in the rain and watched fireworks. Suddenly, the young man kissed her and broke the veil that had been over her eyes. She knew that he was the one she'd been looking for her entire life.

The couple got married and the girl was so happy. She frequently thought about how she thought she would never love anyone as much as the boy and how wrong she was. In fact, the girl's heart grew so much that it filled up her whole body and the potion flew out of her. The girl began to shake very frequently. They took the girl to the doctor again and he gave her many potions, but nothing worked. The girl was so sick, she could not dance, or paint, or even help others. The career that she had worked so hard to obtain was nearly out of reach as well. She was trapped in a body that shook her true self clear into the very back of her.

Her wonderful husband took great care of her and they remained very much in love, but it saddened them that she was so sick and nothing seemed to work. The potions not only didn't work, but they made her very sad and very ill. It tired her husband from taking care of so much, but he vowed to never, ever leave her and he made her very happy.

Though the young woman still had no womb, the couple hoped to raise a child who needed a home, but they knew they could not do so until they found a potion that worked. They longed for a child for what seemed like an eternity, and with every passing year, her heart broke a little more.

After potion after potion and even a magical device implanted into her skin, nothing seemed to work. Finally, after a summer of three potions, her doctor told her that she didn't know of any other potions that they had not tried, but that she would try her hardest to save her because she was such a good and kind doctor.

The young woman tried to remember the words of her uncle, who was now in heaven. She tried to believe that there was an even more grown up woman that she was to become-- a mother, a teacher, a leader, like those who had been her friends. Every day she looked at the plaque and tried to have courage, but the potion she was taking made her even more sad than the others and made her so tired she could do nothing but sleep. Slowly it took the courage out of her body and sent it into the universe for someone else. The young woman prayed every night for angels to help her and to have more courage and angels came, but the courage did not.

The young woman missed the young girl she used to be, the one who laughed and told jokes, who everyone loved and who had a beautiful smile that was almost always present. She could feel her inside herself and vowed to her that somehow, some day, she would release her and become her true self once again.

You're still that funny girl. That part can never change! The happiness part is just foggy now. The fog will clear someday. Just hopefully sooner than later.

Sorry I haven't written to you about your last post yet. Maybe I'll do it now.

It is a cliche for a reason: It is darkest hour is just before the dawn. The story read like the happy ending is just in the next paragraph. I am excited to read it when it happens!

You are an amazing writer. And there is one thing you are wrong on... not being able to help others. You help me just by being you.... whether it is the you on potions, or the girl inside. I love you.

You have a gift with words my beautiful angel friend.I carry thoughts of you in my heart with me all the time. It seems like I'm running around like a crazy mom lady most of the time, but I promise at least 3 times a week I close my eyes and think of you, say a little prayer for you and I send you a mental hug. I'll always love you. Even from a zillion miles away. xoxo
